About Amy

My name is Amy and I am currently living in the Edmond area with my husband and four kids.

After the birth of my first child, I developed a passion for pregnancy and birthing, and decided that working in the birth world was a calling that I needed to fulfill. I enrolled in Childbirth International’s (CBI) Labor Doula course in February '08 and completed it earning my CD (CBI) credential in June '09. I also attended the Doula Association of Central Oklahoma (DACO) sponsored DONA training in March of '09, with trainer Jessica Atkins, for a more hands on training. I am currently enrolled in Midwives College of Utah, working towards becoming a CPM. I have begun to assist other midwives, to work toward my goal but am still working as a birth doula as well.

Part of my journey into family centered care has encouraged a love of using herbs as a means to keep my family healthy. I have been studying the age-old wisdom of herbalism since 2007 through being a member of HerbMentor.com and through self-study. I have completed the Vintage Remedies Herbalism for Birth Professionals course, and am currently enrolled with the Herbal Academy of New England’s Intermediate class to continue my journey. I will continue to study herbs with the goal of becoming a certified herbalist to assist families from birth and beyond.

"Her support for you does not begin at the time you begin labor, it begins the minute you talk to her, she befriends people so easily and is so honestly concerned about them."
